Domique De La Loza, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur De La Loza of

Newport Beach, will attend Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass.,

beginning this fall ... Kathryn I. Salter, daughter of Corona Del Mar

couple Fred and Wendy Salter, has been named to the Merit List for

the second semester of the 2003-2004 school year at Kenyon College, a

private liberal arts school in Gambier, Ohio. She is entering her

senior year and studying psychology ... George Mooradian, son of

George and Lida Mooradian of Newport Beach, became an Eagle Scout in

February and will have his Court of Honor July 31 at the Boy Scouts

of America Sea Base in Newport Beach. His Eagle Scout project

included constructing tables and display cabinets for Share Our

Selves, a non-profit organization, and preparing first-aid kits for

their clients. He will study biology this fall at Cornell University

in New York ... Navy Airman Cecilia M. Flores, daughter of Mary

Flores of Newport Beach and Charles Vivero of Long Beach, and Navy

Petty Officer First Class William R. Adams, son-in-law of Philip and

Ruth Gross of Costa Mesa, will participate in the Navy’s first

exercise of its new Fleet Response Plan, “Summer Pulse ‘04,” aboard

the USS Ronald Reagan. During the three-month exercise, nearly 40,000

sailors will help test the response times of seven American carrier

strike groups located around the world ... Merrill Lynch named Laguna

Niguel’s Gregory Mech the managing director of its Mountain West

region. Mech, who first worked with the company 20 years ago as a

financial advisor, will work in the Newport Beach office and will

oversee approximately 3,000 employees in five states.
