Public hearings likely to be continued

The three public hearings scheduled for the Newport Beach Planning

Commission meeting tonight at City Hall will likely not take place as

the applicants have requested the items be considered at a later

date.

City staff has recommended that the meetings be continued.

Consideration of reducing the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club’s

on-site parking and increasing the dry-storage boat capacity is

expected to be continued to the commission’s Aug. 5 meeting.

Consideration of a third off-site shopping center identification

sign on the corner of Ford Road and San Miguel Drive and the

controversial St. Andrews Presbyterian Church expansion are expected

to be continued to the commission’s Aug. 19 meeting.

Three spots open on community board

The Costa Mesa Community Foundation has three openings on its

board. The foundation was formed by the City Council to solicit,

collect and distribute tax-exempt money from individuals and

businesses in the city to fund projects to benefit the community.

Prospective applicants are invited to submit a letter of interest and

a resume to the foundation at P.O. Box 10268, Costa Mesa, CA, 92627

by Aug. 27.
