Stars get past Hawks with overtime goals

The Stars scored twice in an overtime shootout and went on to post a

6-4 victory over the Hawks in Patrick Division play at Coast 2 Coast

Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Jimmy Hocker’s two goals led a Stars attack that included goals

from Nathan Bergeron and Blake Kelly. Bergeron also had an assist.

Keeper Timothy Francis recorded 22 saves.

Adam Lamotte scored twice to lead the Hawks. Kevin Ewing had a

goal and an assist, and David Daley and Drew Bertoni each had an

assist. Collin Monge had 23 saves.

In other Patrick Division games:

Timberwolves 9, Wings 3

The Timberwolves scored eight goals over the final two periods to

wipe out a 2-1 deficit against the Wings.

Blake Easton scored twice and assisted on three other goals, and

Jacob Gordon scored three times to power the Timberwolves. Brooke

Easton scored once with an assist and single goals went to Eric Lyon,

Josh Roseberry and Darla Roseberry.

Kyle Morrill finished with 22 saves.

Matty Nolan’s two goals paced the Wings, Alex Litten had a goal

and assist and Matthew Duran recorded 27 saves.

Sabers 7, Kings 3

Kelan Stewart scored twice with an assist and Matt Grijalva posted

a pair of goals to lead the Sabers.

Nelson Kays scored once and had an assist and Dennis Grijalva and

Skyler Matas each had a goal to complete the Sabers’ scoring. Avi

Press had 14 saves.

Brett Shaver had a goal and an assist, Nicholas Weldon and

Nathaniel Jones each scored a goal, and Corey DeMatteo had 18 saves

for the Kings.
