Thursday’s Senior Golden Wedding Ceremony on the Heritage Stage at

the Orange County Fair involved many couples from around Southern

California. It was refreshing to see couples that have been able to

make their marriages last for more than 50 years, especially with our

country’s high divorce rates. While watching the ceremony, the

feelings these people had for their spouses was evident in their eyes

and in the expressions they made to each other. At the end of the

reading of the vows, the pastor led them in a group prayer. While

watching this, Bonnie and Paul McKinzie caught my eye as they bowed

their heads and held hands while standing next to each other in

prayer. It was a moment I was able to catch between the couple during

a special event.
