Wanderer
Wanderer is an adventurous and playful 9-week-old,
black-and-white, female kitten. She was bottle-fed by a young
symphony musician. Because of our community involvement, you can see
other kittens raised by local people at our weekend adoption events.
Our hand-raised kittens make great family members because they
love to be with people. However, because many are so trusting, they
are not well suited for an indoor-outdoor life, as they have no
street sense. Many caregivers report hand-raised kittens sleep more
soundly and therefore are less alerted to danger. Some have even
slept through the noise and close proximity of the vacuum.
Rescue calls demand more in-home caregivers and volunteers. This
is the beginning of this year’s second kitten season. Newborn babies
are being found only days old and needing help to survive.
