Since 1998, owner Susan Ellison has carefully selected home

furnishings and luxury bedding for this specialty shop. Over the

years, Blue Springs has grown to carry exclusive and hard-to-find

luxury bedding lines. New arrivals include London’s fabulous Cath

Kidston bedding; from Paris, the Elsa C. collection; and a new

masculine bedding line -- in a very feminine store -- that’s great

for boys, the National Geographic home collection. Established

favorite bedding lines include Bella Notte, which offers exquisite

linens, velvets and satins; and the feminine floral line, House Inc.

(Girls especially favor this line.) Blue Springs also carries new and

antique items that include lamps and custom shades, chandeliers,

mirrors, area rugs, architectural pieces and paintings. Ellison

travels to Europe, back East and takes side trips to the South to

Skate fans can visit Quiksilver Youth at Fashion Island on Sunday

from 2 to 4 p.m. for an autograph- signing event by the Hawk Skate

Team. Skaters making an appearance will include John White, Danny

Cerezini, Tyler Bledsoe and Lamare Hemmings. They’ll sign autographs

at the center of Bloomingdale’s Courtyard, while special drawings

will take place every 30 minutes. Wear Hawk sportswear to the event

French Buckets creates beautiful, simple arrangements of striking

flowers designed for formal weddings. Co-owner Sussanna Davidson

divides her time between Fashion Island and her original Santa Fe

Springs location. She specializes in European-style arrangements

(compact, without greens) and old-fashioned wrap bouquets tied with

tissue paper and beautiful ribbon. Davidson is drawn to vintage looks

-- she stocks galvanized French flower buckets, unusual urns and

selects hard-to-find flowers. Gift items available include hand-blown

glass vases from all around the world, botanical soaps and preserved

Through December, French Buckets features a photography exhibit by

Barbara Higgins called “Paris Picturesque.” Higgins lived in Paris

and shot wonderful black and whites and color photos of street scenes

and the Eiffel Tower. Higgins captured beautiful shadows, reflections

and interesting backgrounds while she explored Paris. Higgins also

specializes in children’s portraits and pets. She favors natural

light and settings. Her photo collection ranges from $175 for a 5x7
