Crusaders survive Phantoms in overtime
Trevor Millikan scored unassisted in the overtime shootout period to
lift the Crusaders past the Phantoms 3-2 in Smythe Division action at
Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
Millikan also assisted on his team’s first goal, a second period
score by Bryce King. Kyle Macnew scored off a Chase Pearce feed and
Joseph Baltazar recorded 28 saves for the Crusaders.
Max McDaniel scored both goals for the Phantoms, Kyle Haymond and
Sydney Russakov each had an assist and William Baltazar finished with
29 saves.
In other Smythe Division games:
Renegades 5, The Storm 4
Jake Beideman’s unassisted goal in an overtime shootout spelled
the difference for the Renegades.
Jonathan Teazis scored three goals, Brennan Lee scored once and
Beideman also had an assist to complete the Renegades’ scoring.
Lonnie Behn had 22 saves to get the win.
Brandon Johnson scored twice, Matthew Passaquindici had a goal and
assist, Lucas Young scored once and Brian Ingram had an assist for
The Storm. David Mastro had 18 saves.
Slickshoes 9, Renegades 2
The Slickshoes outscored the Renegades 8-1 over the final two
periods, to pull away.
Ethan Loy’s three goals and assist powered the Slickshoes.
Kristian Burkhardt scored twice, Gene Jaeger had a goal and an assist
and Nathan Halbur and Phillip Berman each scored once.
Chas Plimpton recorded 16 saves in the victory.
Warren Brown and Brennan Lee scored, Jake Beideman had an assist
and Lonnie Behn had 26 saves for the Renegades.
Terminators 9, Stingers 2
Slater Ott, Evan Kurth and Marcus Kurth each posted two goals to
lead the Terminators.
Connor Campbell, Zachary Harriman and Garrett Ott each scored
once. Harriman also collected three assists and Marcus Kurth had one
assist. David Stone had 16 saves for the Terminators.
For the Stingers, Sean McDaniel and Alex Kowalski each scored,
Kevin Kurz had an assist and Kenneth Nguyen had 20 saves.
