Noteworthy: Butcher, who has been playing golf seriously the past

two years, scored her first hole-in-one in April on Newport Beach

Country Club’s par-3 fourth hole, using a 7-iron. “I thought it went

in the sand trap and [playing partner Martha Carlson] said, ‘Jeanne,

I think it went into the hole.’ We walked to the green and I picked

it out of the hole.” Butcher plays three to four times a week and

credited Newport Beach Country Club head golf professional Paul Hahn,

along with Pam Higgins, for her development in golf.
