PAPER WORK

Jane Egly was the first City Council candidate to file nomination

papers. She turned in the petition July 27.

The petitions must be signed by 20 voters registered in Laguna

Beach.

Incumbent city treasurer candidate Laura Parisi was the first

local candidate to file nomination papers. Parisi is, so far, running

unopposed, as she did in her last campaign four years ago.

Egly also has submitted her recipient campaign statement,

reporting donations totaling $31,021, as of June 30.

City Clerk candidate Martha Anderson was the first to submit a

statement. She also is running unopposed to date.

Egly filed her campaign statement July 8. Incumbents Cheryl

Kinsman and Wayne Baglin both filed on Monday. Statements also have

been filed by the Laguna Beach Taxpayers Assn. Political Action

Committee, a general purpose committee; the Laguna Beach Fireman’s

Assn. Firefighters Public Awareness Group, also a general purpose

committee; and Save Laguna Views, a ballot measure committee.

Campaign statements were due July 3 but candidates were given a

grace period because the deadline fell on the weekend.
