No compromise

on fairgrounds

With regard to selling the Orange County Fairgrounds, my wife and

I are both against that, and we don’t see any point in talking about

any compromise. It just needs to stay the way it is.

Orange County is

in the noise zone

There they go again. Another El Toro airport supporter claiming

that no one in Orange County is in the noise zone. That is simply not

true. I guess they’ve also forgotten the safety concerns of the

pilot’s association.

Step up or lose

fair, quality of life

Regarding the idea of selling the fairgrounds, it’s time for the

leaders of Costa Mesa to grow up and step up. We’re not “Goat Hill”

anymore, and this small-town attitude just won’t work. If the problem

isn’t addressed in a professional manner, we will have the same

results we had when the Costa Mesa powers-that-be allowed a major

freeway to dump into the heart of town, and we will face the same

disgraces when our city did nothing to help Newport fight for an

airport at El Toro. Get it together, Costa Mesa leaders. We do not

want to lose the town tradition of the fair, and we need 300 to 400

houses and the resulting traffic like a hole in the head. Let’s act

like the major city we are and stop being intimidated by other

cities.
