I see the future of Laguna, and it looks too bright

“Where am I, Las Vegas?” I thought aloud as my girlfriend and I

approached the Edwards Cinema in the Irvine Spectrum.

Purple and pink lights, spotlights, blinking signs. I can’t help

but worry that with the current situation of our City Council, this

might be what Laguna Beach of the future will look like.

The pro-development City Council is what worries me.

The Irvine Spectrum was packed. There were people everywhere.

There was nowhere to park.

Sounds a lot like a nice little town I used to know.

Can you say it? “Laguna Beach.”

Wow, Laguna Beach, the new Irvine Spectrum?

With the City Council election coming up, maybe we can get a

couple of fresh faces who care about keeping the integrity of this

great town and will stop selling it out to big, brand-name stores and

start giving back to the locals who made this town so great to begin

with. That’s if there’s anything left by then.

The movie you ask? “Open Water,” possibly the worst movie I have

ever seen. The entire audience thought it was either a joke or that

we were on an episode of “Jamie Kennedy.” It was that bad.

Peace.
