Taking area’s West Nile temperature

I’m very concerned about it and doing about as much as I can around

here. But I wanted to mention that about three weeks ago, I received

a letter, with a request for me to send a reply, asking how we would

feel about spraying in Orange County for these West Nile virus

mosquitoes. And I thought it over, and I really don’t like to spray.

I hate to even spray my flowers, but in this case, a death can occur,

and it is that serious. I would certainly agree to spray in the area,

in places that are necessary. Now I do think they should especially

spray around the areas of Back Bay and wherever there’s water that

could be standing. I think they should do it very quickly.

Incidentally, the number of crows I’ve seen for months now in the

peninsula area have been tremendous. Every day, they come over in

tremendous amounts.

I’m living off of the Back Bay, close to Jamboree Road and the end

of the Back Bay, near the bridge. Is there any possibility that there

could be mosquitoes breeding in the active water that comes in from

the sea? I didn’t think so, but if there is, I’d sure like to know

about it.

We have one pool that fills up, but it never completely empties

out. This is just before the large body of water gets to the bridge.

I keep noticing that it doesn’t always empty out. It’s got water in

it all the time. And I’m concerned about it. I’d like to talk to

somebody about this. We did kill a mosquito in the house today. I

don’t know what kind of mosquito it is, but we have never seen

mosquitoes, and we saw a couple of them today. So I’m concerned.
