Students to hold event

promoting world peace

UC Irvine students will hold a one-day festival, Peace Wants You,

on Oct. 9 in Aldrich Park on the UCI campus.

The event, which will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature a

series of forums and workshops on global peace issues.

It will also present multicultural food, an eclectic selection of

bands and performers, art, books, exhibits and peace-prize winners

from local schools. Music and performances may continue beyond 4 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the UCI Citizen Peacebuilding Program

and is part of Peace Week promoted by the program. Admission is free.
