Dance for the Waves, a Polynesian luau featuring Hawaiian music,

tiki torches and hula lessons, will be held Saturdays at Pete

Mallory’s Surf City Sunset Grille. Guests will receive their own lei

Surf music will be played at the Surfin’ Sundays concert at the

Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum. The concert will start

“Open Mike” night will take place at 8:30 p.m. at Martini Blues,

5874 Edinger Ave. There will be no cover charge and a $10 drink

SEPT. 4

The Huntington Beach Civil War Reenactment will feature costumed

actors and vivid displays of life in the 1800’s. Central Park will be

transformed into a battle ground between the artillery and infantry

with combat, canon fire and encampments. There will also be period

music and vendor booths including books, period costumes and other

items of interest. Camps will open to the public at 10 a.m., the

first battle will start at 1:30 p.m., the living history and weapons

demonstration at 2:30 p.m. and second battle at 4 p.m. with a special

twilight concert to follow. The event will be at Huntington Central

Park behind the Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave. Information: (714)

The Huntington Beach Disc Golf Tournament will be a two-round

contest at one of the country’s first 18-basket courses. All

divisions will be invited to play. Games will begin at 10 a.m. at

Huntington Central Park at the Golden West entrance across the street
