Noteworthy: Won back-to-back state medalist titles in leading the

J.I. Case High golf team in Racine, Wis., to consecutive state

championships as a junior and senior. Spent one season on the Space

Coast Tour, one of the first mini-tours, in Wisconsin. Moved to

Modesto in 1985 and, in the Marysville Open, one of the first

tournaments he entered in California, defeated PGA Tour player David

Sutherland for the title. Won 13 city championships from 1986-’91 in

Modesto. Moved to Southern California in 2000. Works for a company

that sells conveyor belts. Finished in a tie for fourth in this

year’s Costa Mesa city championship after entering the final round in

ninth place.
