Sandpiper takes Tuesday title

Sandpiper clinched the regular season championship and the No. 1 seed

in the upcoming Tuesday League postseason tournament by virtue of a

16-3 victory over Forty Majority.

Joel Bushong hurled a six-hitter -- all singles -- as Sandpiper

won its eighth straight game.

Mickey Allen and Teo Moore each had two home runs and five RBIs

and Ryan Neptune tripled and singled twice for Sandpiper.

Michael Iannotti singled three times to lead Forty Majority

hitters.

In other Tuesday League action:

Team Viagra 5, Good, Bad and Ugly 3

Team Viagra won its third consecutive game and wrapped up a

postseason playoff spot in the process.

Greg Shiu’s first inning homerun put Team Viagra on the scoreboard

and Nate Pivaroff homered and singled for the winners.

Lead-off hitter Adam Aardahl recorded two singles for Good, Bad

and Ugly.

Used Cars 5, Ganahl Lumber 4

Mike McKenzie hit a pair of solo home runs and singled and Mike

Mastrapaolo hit a two-run home run for Used Cars.

Pat Toohey’s fifth inning solo homer completed the scoring for

Used Cars.

John Campbell and Jeff Stevens each had a pair of singles for

Ganahl Lumber.

In Wednesday League action:

Mesa Verde Partners 20, Arborists 0

Mesa Verde Partners racked up 18 hits in this one-sided win that

allowed them to clinch the No. 1 seed in the league’s upcoming

postseason tournament.

Jeff Greenough smashed two home runs and singled in accounting for

five RBIs.

Jeff Pick doubled and singled three times with two RBIs and Nate

Pivaroff homered, doubled and had five RBIs.

Dave Meggison singled three times and Jim Panehal singled twice

for the Arborists.

Island Shade 10, Courtesy Auto Body 2

Bruce Aguinaldo allowed just four singles as Island Shade moved

into a second-place tie with the Arborists.

Doug Mauro led Island Shade’s offense with a home run, double and

two singles while Andy Bunn, Mike Burns and Chuck Emanuele each

homered.

In Thursday League action:

Chico’s Bail Bonds 8, Compound Fractures 7

Jacob Heflin had a home run and single with three RBIs to lead

Chico’s Bail Bonds, who remained in a first-place tie with Tem Hobie.

Other key hits came from Scott Borthwick and Mica Brown, each with

a solo homer and single.

William Manaci’s three for three performance paced Compound

Fractures.

Team Hobie 14, South Laguna Hamstrings 3

Team Hobie belted out eight home runs in winning its six

consecutive game.

Mark Christy, Jason Helmick and Austin Schwaar each hit two homers

and Brandon Jarrick and Paul Corey each hit one.

Clayton Snyder hit a two-run double for the Hamstrings.

Rotary 6, Arbitech 3

Steve Sweet drove in all six Rotary runs behind a pair of homers

and a single.

Bob Johnson and David Zogg each had a pair of singles for Rotary.

Ryan Neptune provided the power hitting for Arbitech with two solo

homers and Glenn Harrick singled twice.
