For Costa Mesa team, practice makes payment

Certainly not. The coach of the Little League team should not have

been cited for having his Little League team on the field. No, no,

no! They should not have been cited. I think it’s outrageous.

I’m definitely against that, and I think that is wrong. I think

that’s too much government watching over us.

Absolutely not. This is ridiculous. I have one question: How is it

we have enough police to enforce this law against our little

children, who want to play baseball in a public park and make them

get out, but we don’t have enough money to have police enforce

illegal immigrants, who come into this country illegally, breaking a

much more serious law? Tell me, what’s the answer to this ridiculous

situation we find ourselves in?

I think this man ought to get a citation of appreciation, not a

citation of penalty. This guy’s been a coach for 11 years. I used to

coach, and it’s a big job coaching kids, getting them to practice and

so forth. It’s really healthy for the kids in the neighborhood. Tell

the Police Department to do the right job and watch the crosswalks to

keep the kids safe, not interfere when they’re trying to do something

positive.

This is the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard of in my life. I

live in Newport Beach, and Newport has got it wired as far as

anything you do. Parking? It doesn’t matter if you live down there or

don’t live down there; they’ll get you one way or another. They’re

cash cows. What’s Costa Mesa trying to do here? Develop another cash

cow from our Little League teams? Give me a break. That’s ridiculous,

and I’ve never heard such a stupid thing in my life.

I don’t think he should be ticketed. I think the city of Costa

Mesa is totally overreacting, as they tend to do when it comes to

kids, whether it’s baseball, soccer or using the fields. It always

seems to be just too authoritative that they don’t let the kids play.

I find that difficult and not fair. So, I don’t think it’s fair that

they cited this gentleman.
