Senior amateur beckons Mesa Verde’s Daley

Mesa Verde Country Club’s Pete Daley shot 4-over-par 74 at Candlewood

Country Club in Whittier Wednesday to join 10 other golfers who

qualified for the Southern California Golf Association senior amateur

championship at Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles Sept. 28-29.

Daley, who won four straight Mesa Verde men’s club titles from

1998-2001, finished in a four-way tie for fifth in a field of 53

golfers vying for 11 spots into the SCGA senior amateur.

Atwood resident Robert Fullagar earned medalist honors with a

1-over 71.

Daley, a Newport Beach resident, finished in a six-way tie for

19th at last year’s senior am.
