WHAT: Newport Harbor Lawn Bowling Club’s Third Annual “Let’s Roll

Tournament”

WHERE: 1550 Crown Drive North

INFORMATION: Tournament entries have already registered, but

people are welcome to come and watch the lawn bowlers, who are

bowling to support the families of Camp Pendleton Marines. Donations

SEPT. 11 MEMORIAL EVENTS

WHAT: A Sept. 11 memorial ceremony hosted by the Costa Mesa Fire

and Police departments.

WHERE: Station 5, 2450 Vanguard Way, next to Costa Mesa City Hall.

WHEN: 6:55 a.m.

INFORMATION: The event will last about 30 minutes. It will include

participation by the police and fire honor guards.

WHAT: A public forum on “Citizen Corps: Protecting the Homeland.”

WHERE: Huntington Beach City Council Chambers, 2000 Main St.,

Huntington Beach.

WHEN: 2 to 4 p.m.

INFORMATION: The event is sponsored by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher --

along with the cities of Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach and several

others -- and includes Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s office of

WHAT: A Celebration For Peace

WHERE: Newport Dunes, 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach.

WHEN: 10 a.m.

INFORMATION: Celebration For Peace is a partnership of Orange

County churches that brings together children and families in a day

of events to promote peace. Activities include the preparing of

inspirational messages to send to soldiers abroad, along with
