Saying good-bye to ‘The Worm’
An open letter to all the Newport-Mesa residents who complained when
the Daily Pilot ran stories on former NBA star and now former Newport
resident Dennis Rodman:
Once you’re done celebrating the fact that last week’s story on
“The Worm” moving to Huntington Beach appears to signal an end to his
appearances in the paper, think about us for a second. What are we
going to do?
No more helicopter landings on the beach. No more wild parties and
loud music. No more boating incidents. No more Dennis.
In other words, no more fun stories for us to cover that break up
the Marinaparks, the redevelopments of the Westside, the
conditional-use permit requests, the business openings and closings.
Good stories all, but their lacking a certain ... celebrity?
Hold on. We’re being reminded that Rodman still has a stake in
Josh Slocum’s. We’re feeling better. Are you?
