Eagles fall

Estancia High sophomore Lina You earned medalist honors, but it

wasn’t enough to help the Eagles avert a 234-251 nonleague girls golf

loss to Edison Monday at the Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club.

You shot 9-over-par 44 to top the individual scoreboard at the

Mesa Linda course.

Sophomore Bridget Gleason (46), sophomore Avery Williams (52),

junior Lauren Cushing (53) and freshman Taylor West (56) rounded out

the scoring for the Eagles.

Estancia opens Golden West League play today against defending

champion Ocean View.

The league also includes Costa Mesa, Westminster, and Orange, as

well as Academy League members Sage Hill, St. Margaret’s and Oxford

Academy.
