Trojan, Raider alum arrested on suspicion of drug offenses
Former Los Angeles Raiders and USC quarterback Todd Marinovich is
in jail without bail after a drug arrest in Newport Beach last month,
according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s website.
Marinovich, 35, was arrested Aug. 28 on suspicion of felony
possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor resisting arrest
and possession of a syringe, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s
Department. He was on probation for a 2001 heroin possession
conviction.
He reportedly pleaded guilty Wednesday to the counts. The arrest
occurred near McFadden Avenue and 22nd Street.
Marinovich is being held at the James A. Musick Facility in
Irvine.
