Corona del Mar High sophomore Jill Damion swept at No. 1 singles to

lead the Sea Kings to a crucial 12-6 nonleague girls tennis win at

Troy Thursday.

“They are ranked No. 1 in Orange County and we’re No. 2, so this

is a big win,” CdM Coach Brian Ricker said.

CdM’s No. 2 doubles team of Alexandra Walters and Miranda Young

also swept, while Ricker credited No. 2 singles player Jillian

Braverman for defeating two quality opponents.

CdM improved to 3-1, while Troy, which, like CdM has lost to
