Wilcox -- Parsons

Kelly Wilcox and Matt Parsons, both of Costa Mesa, exchanged

wedding vows Aug. 7 at the Newport Dunes Resort in Newport Beach.

The bride, a nurse, is the daughter of Jeff and Wendy Wilcox of

Costa Mesa. She wore a halter-top wedding dress with a Hawaiian

print.

The bridegroom, a mortgage supervisor, is the son of Bill McVicar

and Pie Parsons of Costa Mesa and of Ralph and Lori Parsons of Aliso

Viejo.

The maid of honor was Brynn Wilcox and the bridesmaids were

Stephanie Caldera and Kristin Chisholm.

Best man duties were split between Sam Hutchinson and Dave Jordan,

and the usher was Bill McVicar.

The reception was held at Newport Dunes and 127 guests attended.

The couple plans to live in Costa Mesa, following a honeymoon trip to

Antigua.

Joseph and Barbara DeFranco

Joseph and Barbara DeFranco of Newport Beach celebrated their 59th

wedding anniversary by entertaining friends and family at a dinner

party at the Ritz Restaurant at Fashion Island. Daughter Susanne

DeFranco and several of their friends were in attendance.

The couple was married Aug. 26, 1945 in Beverly Hills and has

lived in Newport Beach since 1969. They met in an Italian class at

the UCLA.

Joseph DeFranco was the vice president of Studebaker Corp. in

South Bend, Ind. He’s active in several business pursuits.

Barbara DeFranco has been a mother, homemaker and Girl Scout

leader since her teens. A Guillain-Barre Syndrome survivor, she’s an

Orange County liaison for the Guillain-Barre Syndrome Foundation

International, and talks to and visits patients diagnosed with the

debilitating virus.
