Here are some of the items the commission decided Monday:

RESTAURANT APPLICATION

The commission denied an application from Stan Sax, representing

John Saunders, Doug Morehead and Jason Golding for a

restaurant/bar/nightclub within 200 feet of residences at 2831

Bristol St. Commissioner Dennis DeMaio was absent.

WHAT IT MEANS

The property owners can’t file an application for a similar use

within the next six months.

WHAT WAS SAID

“We all thought it was an inappropriate location for that

business,” Chairman Bruce Garlich said. “It’s surrounded by

residential [uses]. There is an apartment complex that is right

immediately in back of it.”

CIGAR LOUNGE APPLICATION

The commission approved a members-only cigar lounge that can sell

alcoholic beverages at 750 W. 17th St.

WHAT IT MEANS

The cigar lounge can operate at that location.

WHAT WAS SAID

“They made the point that if you like to smoke cigars, you got to

go to Fullerton to do it,” Garlich said. “There’s no compelling

reason to deny it, and it meets the requirements for those kind of

places.”
