The Orange County affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer

Foundation will pay tribute to the sponsors of its 13th annual Komen

Orange County Race for the Cure, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Turnip Rose,

1901 Newport Blvd., Costa Mesa. The race begins Sunday at Fashion

FRIDAY

The “Golden Meditation Retreat,” hosted by James Golden, offers

spiritual practices such as meditation, chanting, contemplation and

prayer. The retreat meets today and Saturday and Sunday at the Center

for Spiritual Discovery, 2850 Mesa Verde Drive East, Costa Mesa. The

SATURDAY

The fifth annual “Cruisin’ for a Cure” hot rod show and fundraiser

for prostate cancer is held from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Orange

County Fair and Exposition Center, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. At

least 3,100 classic cars will be displayed, and men 40 and over can

receive a free prostate cancer screening. In addition, the event

features a Herman Munster look-alike and the original Munster Coach

from the 1960s TV show “The Munsters.” Admission is $10 for adults,

The Access Fund’s fifth annual public “Adopt-a-Crag” cleanup will

run from 8 to 11 a.m. at Corona del Mar State Beach’s Pirate’s Cove,

in a parking lot near Ocean Boulevard and Iris Avenue. Participants

will clear trash and debris from the area and will be invited to

Relationship expert and educator Jim Collister will deliver an

educational seminar based on his new book, “The Last Relationship

The 13th annual Komen Orange County Race for the Cure, for runners

and walkers of all ages, will be held in the morning at Fashion

Island in Newport Beach. Events, which begin at different times until

9:40 a.m., include women’s and co-ed 5K runs and walks and a one-mile

fun walk. A prize purse of $5,000 will be awarded to the top-10

finishers in the women’s 5K. The event supports local education,

research screening and treatment programs at the Orange County

affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
