Laguna Beach Club Soccer teams turned in a successful weekend by

winning twice and earning a tie in boys and girls action.

Laguna’s boys’ under-14 team defeated the newly formed Rancho

Santa Margarita Soccer Club, 7-1.

Laguna was 4-0 by halftime, as Caine Fair scoring two goals in the

first 10 minutes, and Bryce Healey adding two more before the

halftime whistle.

The second half saw the scoring continue with goals added by Tommy

Hopper, Jack Monroe and Yorel Manzanita.

“It was a good team performance and great weekend for our teams,”

Laguna coach Andy Thomas said.

Laguna’s boys’ under-10 team is off to a flying start in its first

year competing in the competitive Coast Soccer League.

Laguna has posted consecutive shutout victories to open league

play 2-0, which is good for first-place in the division.

Joseph Rousseau scored the only goal in Laguna’s most recent win,

a 1-0 victory.

“It appears that tough defense is why they are such a great team,”

Thomas said. “Alec Williams has developed into an impressive

goalkeeper and is backed up by Jovani Reyes at the heart of defense.

Look out for this team making a charge for the league championship.”

Laguna’s girls’ under-13 team picked up its first points with a

hard fought game against the Mission Viejo Soccer Club, which ended

in a 2-2 tie at Moulton Meadows.

“The girls showed great determination coming back from being a

goal down twice to end the game with a 2-2 tie,” Thomas said. “The

girls never gave up to earn the deserved tie.”
