Cross country still ranked second
The Laguna Beach High boys’ and girls’ cross country teams
continue to hold down the No. 2 ranking in the latest CIF-Southern
Section Division IV rankings.
The polls were released Tuesday by the Southern Section office in
Los Alamitos.
In both cases, Laguna is second in the Division IV poll to
top-ranked Orange Lutheran.
Laguna’s girls’ volleyball team graced the Division IV-AA poll
with a No. 8 ranking.
Junior Tennis Series begins Sunday
The first of three Laguna Beach Junior Tennis Challenger Series
events will be played Sunday at Alta Laguna Park.
Other upcoming tournament dates include Oct. 31 and Nov. 21.
The tournament will feature 2 1/2 hours of singles round-robin
play, novice and advanced sections and is open to boys and girls ages
10 and under.
Interested players can register with the city of Laguna Beach
Recreation Dept.

Tennis social and potluck scheduled
A round robin tennis social and potluck will be held Oct. 16, at
Alta Laguna Park.
Tournament play begins at 1 p.m. with men’s and women’s doubles
action, followed at 3:30 p.m. with mixed doubles play.
Entries for the event will be taken through Thursday, Oct. 14.
An entry fee of $15 per person is required.
