Students get access to strings orchestra
Beginning this fall, as a free after-school program, both Thurston
students and fourth- and fifth-grade students from El Morro and Top
of the World Elementary Schools will have an opportunity to
participate in the newly formed strings orchestra.
Philip Felix will kick off this program with a parent/student
night at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
For information, call Philip Felix at (949) 497-7785.
SchoolPower hopes to raise like last year
SchoolPower’s community drive kicked off last week. Parents can
expect a phone call from one of more than 50 volunteers to ask for a
tax-deductible contribution to the annual campaign.
SchoolPower raises money for all the schools in the district. This
year’s campaign goal is to exceed $300,000 for the second year in a
row.
For information, go to the SchoolPower office, 733 St. Ann’s
Drive, or call (949) 494-6811.
