Exploring the two sides of the banner debate

The Mesa Verde Village homeowners are a bunch of whiners, and they

should get together and see how they could give back to the community

instead of draining our government and draining our Little League

volunteers.

I’m against the banner issue for the baseball leagues to fly their

banners pretty much year-round. It’s an eyesore. It’s blatantly just

a negative impact for Costa Mesa to allow the banners to fly and to

change the ordinance that exists.

If Newport, Fountain Valley, Long Beach and all the other league

fields want to participate in flying their banners, then maybe they

ought to think about passing it in all of southern Orange County and

Los Angeles County districts. You’ll find nothing on their fields in

Newport -- no banners, no headers around the fences, absolutely

nothing on Mariner’s Park fields.
