Education committee to conduct meetings
Two upcoming meetings of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District
special education advisory committee have been announced.
The committee is an advisory board with a mission to develop a
home-school partnership with parents, school personnel and community
members.
The first meeting, on Oct. 20, will be on the topic of how to
promote more involvement and awareness of students with special
needs. The second meeting will be on Jan. 19 and will feature a panel
of guest speakers discussing how parents can help preteens and teens
to make responsible choices. The panel will include a special
education teacher and a Newport-Mesa Unified School District
psychologist.
Both meetings will be from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Newport-Mesa Unified
School District board room at 2985-A Bear St. in Costa Mesa.
