Two plays ignite win

The receiver-quarterback connection of Tanner Traglia and Chase

Forrest combined to lead the Jr. Clinic Seahawks over the Rowland

Heights Raiders, 19-12. Jake Favreau rushed for 70 yards and a

touchdown to cap the Seahawks’ victory.

The Seahawks scored on their first possession of the second half

on a 52-yard touchdown pass from Forrest to Traglia. The defense, led

by Tate Smith, Spencer Lujan, Andrew Shearer, Favreau, Forrest and

Traglia squelched the Raider offense, holding them to negative yards

in the second half.

Traglia and Forrest hooked up on the next possession with a

90-yard touchdown pass, tying the score 12-12. Charlie Padden,

Marshall Sepulveda and Keaton Cablay added to the defense and forced

the Raiders to punt. Smith tangled up the punter, causing a fumble

that was recovered by Forrest on the Raider 35.

Favreau then put the Seahawks ahead for good on a nine-yard

touchdown run. On the ensuing kick off by Sage Fleming, Favreau

recovered the lose ball giving the Seahawks the ball back with 2:47

left on the clock. Behind the solid blocking of Max Carr, Austin

Arico, Dane Valdivia, Quentin Moses, Taylor Antenucci, Lukas

Nienhuis, Stephen Cureton and Grant Nutt, the Seahawks run out the

clock for their third victory in a row and a share of first place in

conference.

The host Silver Seahawks face Long Beach Poly Saturday at 1 p.m.

at Bonita Creek Park.

* Roland Heights 24, Peewee Seahawks 14

The Peewee Seahawks lost to Roland Heights Raiders, 24-14, in a

hard-fought division game last Saturday night.

The Raiders scored on their second play of the game to take a 6-0

lead and the ensuing drive, the Raiders intercepted and returned a

pass for a touchdown to go up 12-0. A long run later in the half by

the Raiders quarterback made the score 18-0 at halftime.

In the second half the Raiders would again be the first team to

find the end zone and increase the lead to 24-0 early in the third

quarter. The Seahawks then took all the momentum in the game thanks

to defensive play from Steven Sheldon, Braden Granard, Keegan

Jakowsky, Hunter Durante, DJ Hauser and Jimmy Reed. Linebackers JD

Abbott, Brett Klien, Drew Diller, Ryan Iverson and Blake Burkhart

made countless tackles while the secondary of Brett Linkletter,

Travis Woloson, Chris Brown and Aaron Rentz shut down the Raiders in

the second half.

The Seahawks offense drove the ball behind their line of Austin

Turner, Reed, Hauser, John Prickett, Hauser, Sheldon, Nico Napolitano

and Spencer Haly. Seahawks quarterback Woloson completed passes to

Linkletter, Abbott, Napolitano, Sheldon and Iverson to set up two

touchdown runs by JD Abbott and closed the gap to 24-14. The clock

was the Seahawks biggest enemy as time ran out before the Seahawks

could regain he lead.

The Seahawks will host the Tri-Cities Steelers Saturday night at 5

p.m.
