Museum’s art auction Saturday
Laguna Art Museum’s 22nd annual art auction will begin at 6 p.m.
Saturday with a host bar, which will stay open throughout the night,
courtesy of Young’s Market Company. It will be followed by an array
of hors d’oeuvres, coffee and desserts.
The real fun will begin with the live auction. Fine paintings,
drawings and sculptures will be offered for sale by a professional
auctioneer with the competition lively. The prices will be
unbelievable said Laguna Art Museum public relations director Stuart
Byer.
The auction has earned a distinguished reputation over the past
two decades. Hundreds of noted California artists have contributed
work over the years, with such pre-eminent names as Laddie John Dill
and Don Bachardy donating nearly every year since the auction’s
inception.

‘New Possibilities’ at Wells Fargo
The Festival of Arts’ “New Possibilities in Photography” is on
exhibit on the 3rd floor at the Wells Fargo Bank. Seven Festival of
Arts exhibiting photographers have been chosen for this show and
include Bill Agee, Rick Ferncase, Spencer Grant, Jennifer Griffiths,
Robert Hansen, Julie Sample and Cliff Wassman.
The exhibit will run through Oct. 29 at Wells Fargo Bank, 260
Ocean Ave. The building is open to the public Monday through Friday 9
a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free.
‘Feast’ moving at the Playhouse
The Laguna Playhouse’s 14th annual fundraiser, “A Moveable Feast,”
will be on Monday. It will be progressive dining experience featuring
13 dining establishments near the theater.
Attendees will begin their experience with a pre-dinner reception
at Tivoli Terrace where they can drink champagne and bid on special
silent auction items.
This fund raising event will benefits the Laguna Playhouse.

‘The OsCene’ to open in November
Laguna Art Museum will host “The OsCene: Contemporary Art and
Culture in Orange County from Nov. 7 to Feb. 27. “The OsCene” is a
survey exhibition of Orange County artists working in all media
including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, multi-media
installations, video/film, sound/music, architecture, fashion and
tattoo art.
It has been more than 20 years since a survey exhibition of
contemporary art in Orange County has been organized by a museum.
More than 400 artists submitted their work in an open call.
The curatorial team includes Tyler Stallings, Laguna Art Museum
chief curator; Jacqueline Bunge, Laguna Art Museum curatorial
assistant; Keiko Beatie, guest curator of film; and Tim Schwab, guest
curator of music. The exhibition has been organized by Laguna Art
