THE GRAND MASQUERADE

The Stella Dance Company’s annual gala fundraiser, “The Grand

Masquerade,” begins at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Village Crean, 2300

Mesa Drive, Newport Beach. The event benefits community outreach and

dance scholarship programs. Cocktail attire or costume is suggested,

and masks are available at the venue. Advance reservations are $60

per person or $100 per couple, and admission is $75 at the door.

TRICK OR TREAT FESTIVAL

The seventh annual Trick or Treat Festival will be from 7 a.m. to

4 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Orange County Market Place, 88 Fair Drive,

Costa Mesa. Events include the Halloween, Hearse, Bug and Monster

Classic Car Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; an antique hearse parade at

10 a.m.; free trick-or-treating for costumed kids from 10 a.m. to 2

p.m. and David Markham’s sword-swallowing shows at 12:30 and 1:30

p.m. Admission is $2 for ages 13 and older and free for kids 12 and

BALBOA’s ‘GREAT PUMPKIN’

A Halloween event in Balboa Village features live entertainment,

raffle prizes, a costume contest, a pumpkin coloring contest and “The

Kremerata Baltica, led by artistic director and violin soloist
