The driver of the car, a 46-year-old Huntington Beach man, made

an illegal left turn into a parking spot and collided with Bales’

Police pursuit

ends in arrest

The pursuit of an allegedly stolen car early Saturday led police

on a chase through three cities until the car collided with another

vehicle.

The driver of the car, Heulises Jose Ramirez, 18, of Anaheim, was

arrested and charged with vehicle theft and felony evasion after

leading police on a pursuit through Fountain Valley, Westminster and

Garden Grove, Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Dave Bunetta said.

The chase began after William Mellon, 30, of Huntington Beach,

reported his 2001 Volkswagen Jetta stolen from 11th Street and Orange

Avenue around midnight. Officers responded to the call and spotted

the stolen Jetta traveling north on Beach Boulevard.

Officers unsuccessfully tried to make a traffic stop, Bunetta

said.

The chase ended when the Jetta crashed into another vehicle.

The 31-year-old driver of the other vehicle was taken to Garden

Grove Hospital for minor injuries.

A revolver was later recovered from the Jetta.
