Ready to RUFF it on Turkey Day
The annual thanksgiving dinner, presented by Rescuing Unwanted Furry
Friends, will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Nov. 25 at the Tivoli
Terrace Restaurant, 650 Laguna Canyon Road.
The dinner will feature a traditional Thanksgiving meal along with
pet and family portraits by Heidi Schoenemann. A vegetarian meal
option is also offered. Pets are welcome.
All proceeds from the dinner will support the care of sick,
injured and homeless animals. The dinner is $22 for adults and $11

Winter palette winners announced
The winners of the 2004 Palette Competition have been selected
from a pool of 29 submissions received by the Laguna Beach Arts
Commission.
The four winners, Erik Konicki, Lynn Kubasek, Diann Ocean and
Suzanne Redfearn, will have their art work on display throughout the
city from Dec. 1 through January. The painted palette competition is
a Laguna Beach tradition, which began in 1966. Information: (949)

Holiday palette deadline is today
The deadline for submission for the city of Laguna Beach
Children’s Holiday Palette Exhibition is today.
The exhibition is a project of the Arts Commission that allows
children, ages 5 to 17, to create original artwork. All appropriate
submitted artwork will be on display at City Hall during the holiday
season. In addition, several paper palettes will be chosen for
mounting onto wooden palettes and they will be displayed throughout
December at City Hall in a special exhibition.
Laguna Beach children can submit a palette design on 8 1/2- by
11-inch paper, in color, within the palette outline. The outline is
available online at https://www.lagunabeach city.net. The palette
indent must also be included as a part of the design.
The artist’s signature, age and date should be placed on the
front, left-hand side.
Designs will be selected from the following age groups: 5 to 8, 9
to 13 and 14 to 17. Entries must be received by 5 p.m. at the

Chamber expo coming to Tivoli Too!
The Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce Community Expo will be held
from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 at Tivoli, Too!, 777 Laguna Canyon
Road. The 10th annual expo will focus on uniting the community of
Laguna beach with an evening of food, entertainment and presentations
by businesses and community organizations.
The event is free and open to the public and will feature musical
and theatrical performances by the Ken Garcia Band, Gallimaufry,
Lagunatics, True Colors Studios and the Showpros. There will also be
the opportunity to win the grand prize drawing of a trip for two to
Fiji for one week, plus $1,000 in spa and hair services and products

Marines to meet in honor of comrades
Laguna’s First Marine Faithful Old Force, an association of former
members of the U.S. Marine Corps from Laguna Beach, will meet
Wednesday to commemorate the corps’ 229th anniversary.
Former Marines will join in a ceremonial toast and will drink for
Marines on duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, who are prohibited from
using alcohol while serving in those countries.
Local Marines who have served in Iraq will be the guests of honor
at the event, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the American
Grill at the Canyon Lodge, 31106 S. Coast Highway. For reservations,
