Navy Reserve Hospitalman Anna I. Zakharova, daughter of Inna P. Mudd

of Huntington Beach, and Edward Mudd of Costa Mesa, recently

graduated from the Basic Hospital Corps School at Naval Hospital

Corps School, Great Lakes, Ill. During the 14-week course, Zakharova

learned a wide range of medical procedures used to provide first aid

and assist Navy doctors and nurses. Zakharova also received

introductory instruction for service in a variety of medical

environments. Zakharova’s skills and knowledge will enable her to

provide health care to Navy and Marine Corps personnel and their

families. Zakharova joined the Navy Reserve in March 2004 ... On Nov.

13, a group of Huntington Beach YMCA Y-Guides will plant seedlings to

restore wildfire damage at the Orange County Boy Scout Council’s

Schoepe Scout Reservation at Lost Valley. The Y-Guides will have the

help of Tree Musketeers, an El Segundo environmental organization,

and will also be joined by Boy Scouts working toward their Water

Conservation badges.
