Corona del Mar earns easy win

The Corona del Mar High girls tennis team defeated host Mission

Viejo, 17-3, in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division

I playoffs Saturday.

The No. 1 doubles team of Hayley Young-Jami Steele swept three

sets for the Sea Kings (17-3).

Corona del Mar will face Harvard-Westlake (16-3) in the

quarterfinals at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the site to be determined by a

coin flip Monday.

Sage rips Granite Hills

* Sage Hill School No. 2 singles player Sarah Geocaris swept at

love and Stephanie Langer swept, only losing one game, at No. 1

singles to lead No. 3-seeded Lightning past host Granite Hills, 16-2,

in a CIF Division V second-round match Saturday.

Sage Hill (14-6), seeded fourth, will host Cabillo/Lompoc in the

quarterfinals at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Balboa Bay Club Racquet Club.

Granite Hills finished 14-6.

* Newport Harbor High lost to visiting Harvard-Westlake, 12-6, in

the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs

Saturday afternoon.

Doubles teammates Brittany Cluck and Alex McIntosh won two out of

three sets for the Sailors, who finished their season 13-8.

the CIF Southern Section Division V playoffs Saturday.

Doubles teammates Sarah Muradian-Marci Kirchberg and Sage

O’toole-Cathy Pittman swept their sets for the Eagles.

Estancia finished its season 13-5.
