‘March of the Falsettos’ final weekend

Gallimaufry Performing Arts will perform the comic operetta “March

of the Falsettos” at the Forum Theatre on the Festival of Arts

grounds today through Sunday.

This production will mark the creation of Gallimaufry’s new

“Promiscuous Assemblage” repertory company.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday with

matinees at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $25 and $18

for seniors and students. Tickets may be purchased by calling (949)

Winter Fantasy tree lighting and opening Saturday

The 14th annual Sawdust Winter Fantasy will open Saturday with its

annual community celebration at 5 p.m. with the tree lighting

ceremony by Mayor Cheryl Kinsman and other festivities. Laguna Beach

residents are admitted free from 3 to 7 p.m.

Winter Fantasy will feature 173 artists working in diverse media

with works for sale. Entertainment, activities and art classes for

children and adults will be available for free with paid admission.

Sawdust Winter Fantasy, 935 Laguna Canyon Road, will be from 10

a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; Dec. 4 and 5 and Dec. 11 and 12.

One time adult admission is $4.50 or $5.50 for unlimited access.

Entry is $2 for children 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and younger.

Chuck Jones exhibit reception and lecture

“The Art and Entertainment of Chuck Jones,” an exhibit of his

works, including lesser-known oils, watercolors and charcoal opens

with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. will take place Saturday at Laguna

College of Art and Design, 2222 Laguna Canyon Road. The exhibit will

run through Jan. 28.

Coinciding with the exhibit, famous animation director Eric

Goldberg will lecture from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Laguna South

Coast Cinema, 162 S. Coast Highway. Goldberg will cover Jones’

artistic development in fine art and animation highlighted with

Jones’ film, clips and still work.

Laguna Canyon Artists open studio event

Thirty artists’ studios will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to

6 p.m. Dec. 4 and 5. See working studios and works in progress with

art in many media available for purchase. There will be free parking

and refreshments.

Laguna Art Museum’s ‘The OsCene’

Laguna Art Museum’s “The OsCene: Contemporary Art and Culture in

Orange County,” exhibit involves diverse media including painting,

drawing, sculpture, photography, multi-media installations,

video/film, sound/music, architecture, fashion and tattoo art.

Lectures, panels, film screenings and music performances are

scheduled throughout the exhibit, which will run through Feb. 27.
