Group addresses changing direction

Open Gatherings, a group that draws together people from all faiths

and nonfaiths to explore topics of spirituality, politics,

relationships and personal ethics will meet today at 7:30 p.m. at the

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 429 Cypress Drive.

Tonight’s meeting is a casual conversation led by the Rev. Tari

Lennon, covering the topic, “Us -- Now More than Ever: Changing

Direction.”

Open Gatherings is a venue for discussing spirituality and no

topic is off-limits. Open Gatherings is held at 7:30 p.m. on the last

Friday of each month at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Due to

Thanksgiving, tonight’s event is being held on the third Friday.

December’s Open Gathering will be held on Dec. 17.

Admission is free and donations are welcome. There is free child

care provided for children ages four and older. Dessert and coffee

Annual Woman’s Club silent auction set

The annual Tarnished Treasures and Silent Auction Luncheon will be

held by the Woman’s Club of Laguna Beach at 11 a.m. on Dec. 3 at the

Woman’s Club, 286 St. Ann’s Drive.

An eclectic collection of donated items will be available for

sale, including jewelry and artwork. A local restaurant will cater

the luncheon and special entertainment is planned. The cost is $20

per person and tickets must be reserved by Dec. 1.

All funds raised benefit local charitable groups and help maintain

the clubhouse that is available to the public for special events

Village Laguna to discuss mansionization

Village Laguna will hold its general monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on

Nov. 29 at the Wells Fargo building, 260 Ocean Ave.

Village Laguna will hear from members of the city’s Design Review

Board on their experience with implementing measures to halt

mansionization.

Interested members of the community are invited to attend.
