Agency offering home-buying funds
The Costa Mesa Redevelopment Agency is offering funds for the home
buyer assistance program, which offers help with down payments.
Potential home buyers may receive up to $40,000 in the form of a
deferred second mortgage.
To be eligible, applicants must earn no more than 120% of the
median income in Orange County and be able to provide a 3% down
payment.
They must also qualify for a first mortgage with a private lender.
The purchase price limit is $515,000, the area median home price.
Those who have not owned residential real estate in the last three
years may be eligible for assistance funds.

City accepting bids for police building
Bids for the Costa Mesa Police facility basement renovation will
be accepted until 10 a.m. on Jan. 10.
The sealed proposals for furnishing all labor, materials,
equipment, transportation and other facilities required by the Costa
Mesa Police facility basement renovation will be opened right after
the deadline for sealed submissions ends. They will be read aloud in
the council chambers.
Bidders must have a Class-B license and also be qualified as
required by law to do the work.
The proposals should bear the title of the work and the name of
the bidder.
A set of bid documents can be obtained at the Office of the City
Engineer, 77 Fair Drive, upon receipt of a nonrefundable payment of
$30. An additional charge of $10 must also be handled by mail.
