Rietsch named league MVP for girls’ tennis
Laguna Beach High girls’ tennis player Claire Rietsch added to her
collection of honors when she was named MVP of the Pacific Coast
League for the 2004 season.
Rietsch won the Pacific Coast League single title in November, the
second time in the last three years that she has won the crown.
It was during her freshman year that she also was named league
MVP.
“It’s a nice honor and it’s nice that [coaches] respect me and see
me as a tough competitor and clean player,” Rietsch said.
Rietsch led two teams of all-league selections that included four
of her Breaker teammates.
Named to the First Team from Laguna Beach was Katie Ochwat and
Lorren Butterwick.
Second Team picks from Laguna Beach included Kellie Ammerman and
Correy Miller.
