Tsunami fundraiser and wine tasting
Len’s Wine Cite and Wine Tasting Room is sponsoring a fundraiser
and wine tasting for tsunami relief from 5 to 9 p.m. today. A $20
donation at the door offers expanded wine tasting with all proceeds
to be donated to Doctors Without Borders. Len’s is at 303 Broadway,

Gallimaufry will hold youth theater auditions
The Generation gap, part of Gallimaufry Performing Arts, will hold
auditions from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the science fiction musical
“Weird Romance.”
Participants should prepare a two- to three-minute song,
preferably musical theater, and have it memorized. Be prepared to act
and do a cold reading of the script. Bring a schedule of conflicts to
the audition, none will be accepted later. The show will be produced

Pageant casting call is Saturday and Sunday
The Pageant of the Masters is looking for men and women of all
ages and sizes to volunteer for the 2005 show “On the Road -- A Crash
Course in Art and Popular Culture” to be staged July 7 through Sept
1.
Prospective volunteers will be measured and photographed.
Volunteers are also needed in wardrobe, makeup, headdress, as well as
coordinators. No theater experience is required. Meet the
behind-the-scenes staff. Refreshments will be served.
Casting call will be 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday

Auditions for No Square’s winter concert
No Square Theatre is holding auditions for it’s winter concert,
“All Together Now: Broadway’s Greatest Group Numbers,” from 11 a.m.
to 4 p.m. at its studios, 1863 S. Coast Highway.

Public art dedication will be held Sunday
Artist Ralph Tarzian’s bronze sculpture “The Discussion” will be
dedicated at the corner of Forest Ave. and Ocean Ave. at 2 p.m. on
Sunday by Mayor Elizabeth Pearson-Schneider and the City Arts
Commission.

LOCA Art Escapes Workshops are set
Laguna Outreach Community Arts Art Escapes program is offering a
three-part watercolor workshop at 2 p.m. Jan. 14, 21 and 28,
featuring nationally known artist, exhibitor and teacher Roger Folk.
The class at the Women’s Club, 286 St. Anne’s Drive, is suitable

Laguna college offers stone carving workshop
Laguna College of Art and Design is offering a stone carving
winter workshop Jan. 15 through March 10.
The workshop is taught by master stone carver Marvin Johnson. No
prior experience is necessary. The 10-week series cost $300 with two
make-up classes.

Laguna Beach Live! concert brings on the jazz
Laguna Beach Live! is sponsoring the “Generations of Jazz” concert
at 8 p.m. on Jan. 22, featuring saxophone legend Charles McPherson,
his son Chuck on drums, father and son guitarists Dave and Larry
Koonse and the McPherson Quartet.
The concert is at Laguna Beach High School’s Artists’ Theatre, 625

Shepherd stars in this year’s Art for AIDS
“Art for AIDS IV: An Evening with Cybill Shepherd” an event
benefiting AIDS Services Foundation Orange County and Laguna Art
Museum will be on Feb. 5 in the pacific Ballroom at the St. Regis
Monarch Beach Resort and Spa in Dana Point.
Shepherd will take center stage in the role of the evening’s
celebrity guest and performer. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m.
with cocktails, a dinner buffet and a silent auction of artwork and
donated celebrity items. The live auction starts at 8:30 p.m.
followed by Sheperd’s performance and a live band.
Tickets are $285, $500 or $1,000. Sponsorships are $10,000 and

Surfrider Blue Water Music Festival is set
The Surfrider Foundation will celebrate its 20th anniversary
locally with the “Blue Water Music Festival” 2 p.m. Feb. 5. on the
Festival of Arts grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Road.
The benefit concert will feature live performances by Missiles of
October, Common Sense, World Anthem, Blues Offenders, Jason Feddy,
Evren Ozan and others.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Pacific Marine Mammal
Center and Ocean Laguna Foundation. Ocean-related art, environmental
education, surf films, a silent auction, vendor booths, food and
drinks will be featured.
Tickets are $100 for VIP and $50 general admission, both include a
