Sowers boys topple TeWinkle

The TeWinkle Middle School eighth-grade boys basketball team lost to

Sowers, 46-31, Tuesday.

Troy McClanahan led TeWinkle with 18 points, while Jorge Olivas

added five. Danny Martinez, Rony Argueta, Danny O’Neil and Ryan Knapp

each had two points.

* The TeWinkle School seventh-grade boys basketball team lost to

Sowers, 44-9, Tuesday.

Kohl Jones, Tyler Sullivan, Sy Young and Ryan Cherney all scored

for the Trojans.

Camps set for January

* BASEBALL: Orange Coast College baseball assistant Joe Ronquillo

and fellow coaches will conduct spring training camps for four

Sundays beginning later this month at Costa Mesa High.

The camps will run from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 16, 23, 30

and Feb. 13. Cost per player is $150 and the sessions are open to

players of all levels ages 6 to 12.

Instruction will focus on hitting, pitching, catching, infield and

outfield play. A mock tryout session is also planned.
