New board spot filled

at local consulting firm

Newport Beach-based Fieldstone Corporation has elected Dennis J.

Sweeney to its board of directors.

Sweeney, founder and principal of Newport Consulting Partners in

Newport Beach, joined the board Jan. 1.

Sweeney graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Business

School. He previously served in the U.S. Army and worked with

international management consulting firm McKinsey & Company for 22

years.

He is chairman of the board of directors of Chicago-based Pharos

Innovations, a healthcare services company serving patients with

chronic diseases.

Sweeney replaces David Langlois on Fieldstone Corporation’s board.

Langlois has been with Fieldstone since its inception in 1981

until his retirement in 1999. He will continue to serve in various

roles with the company.

Popular tooth-based company might sell

Newport Beach’s Water Pik Technologies, Inc. announced last week

that its board of directors is considering selling the company.

The announcement was made on Jan. 4. In a statement, Robert P.

Bozzone, the company’s chairman, stated that the company had record

sales in 2004 and was on track to hit targets through 2006. He said

the company was considering a sale of part or all of it as a way to

improve shareholder value.

Water Pik Inc. retained J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. to consider

its alternatives, which may include a sale.

Area health network names new president

The Newport Beach-based Alliance Health Network, Inc. has a new

president.

The medical services firm announced that Stanley Otake has been

named to the president’s post. Otake has worked as a healthcare

executive for 20 years, most recently as the chief executive of West

Coast Surgery Centers. Before that job, he served as chief executive

of Bellflower Medical Center.

Ad firm announces 2 big-time promotions

Two major promotions were announced at Heil-Brice Retail

Advertising in Newport Beach.

The advertising firm announced on Jan. 4 that Jeff Morris,

formerly the company’s vice president of account service, had been

named president. Michael Robertson, with 35 years in the advertising

industry, was named executive creative director.

Company founder Hal Brice, former president and executive creative

director, accepted the title of co-chief executive. He was slated to

share chief executive duties with Joni Brice.

The firm’s clients include the Los Angeles Clippers, the Los

Angeles Times and Ralphs Grocery Co.
