Soon the whole world will know what John Sutton eats.

Camera crews followed the Huntington Beach man around his

Springdale Street home Thursday and Friday for a new reality

television show called “You Are What You Eat.”

Residents in the apartment complex said the taping was a major

production involving 25 crew members and 10 vehicles, including a

large lighting truck.

“It was fun, but I was happy when it was over,” said property

manager Elizabeth Stover, adding that the taping drew curious looks

from dozens of residents.

“There weren’t many complaints except when one of their trucks

blocked the entry to the carport,” she said.

The reality television show was filmed by Evolution Film and Tape

Inc. of Burbank.

“We aren’t allowed to talk about a pilot until it’s sold and ready

to air,” said show producer Lora Morlan.

Founded in 1987, the documentary production team has created some

of television’s most successful reality television shows including

“Fear Factor,” “Big Brother” and “Clean Sweep.” The company has also

done some more offbeat programming like the show “Boy meets Boy” for

the Bravo network and Disney’s “Bug Juice.”

According to Evolution’s film permit with Huntington Beach’s

Community Services Department, the crew was “following a man around

for three days as he shows us his eating habits. We will then help

him change his bad habits.”

Evolution’s website said the show will likely air on the ABC

network and will be hosted by a “straight-talking highly regarded”

nutritionist who will help participants change their bad eating

habits. Show participants are then monitored by a doctor.

Casting for the show was held in November at the Glendale Hilton,

according to Evolution’s casting application, which included 108

questions about the participant’s diet and a weeklong food diary.

Not much is known about Sutton. Neighbors said he has blond hair

and is in 20s. Stover said that Sutton works as an investigator, but

didn’t have much information about him beyond that.

Sutton was unavailable for an interview, typical of those on

reality shows that have yet to air.
