CdM shines in playoffs

The AYSO Region 57 boys under-14 soccer team improved to 4-0 in the

regional all-star playoffs following wins over North Irvine and

Newport Beach.

CdM defeated Irvine, 5-0, and Newport, 3-0, with the defense being

shored by Kenny Cooper, Alex Mainthow, James Petrilli and Scotty

Berkhausen. Colin Gray, Joey Cooper, Karl Fletcher and Brad Jones

shared goalkeeping duties.

The offense was lead by Ori Tabak with four goals, Kevin Wang with

two, and Camden Nicholson and Eric Hansen with one apiece. Andrew

Iverson and Evan McNerney played in the midfield.

TeWinkle faces Ensign

* BASKETBALL: The TeWinkle Middle School boys basketball team

played Ensign, with Ryan Cherney leading the way with six points.

Tyler Sullivan scored three points for TeWinkle, while Jesus Antonia,

Damon Hogan and Kevin Thomas each had two.
