FRIDAY

The ancient art of Chinese noodle-making will be demonstrated to

the public as part of a New Year celebration from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at

the Ruby Palace Chinese Restaurant, 18330 Beach Blvd. This

centuries-old tradition will be also take place on Feb. 5 from 6 to

8:30 p.m. The restaurant will also be selling egg rolls at the event,

and throughout February, with all proceeds benefiting Project

Self-Sufficiency, a program for local low-income single parents. The

SATURDAY

A Roller Blading Fun Roll will start at 10:30 a.m. from the

Huntington Beach Pier. Join the group of roller bladers for a 16-mile

round trip at a pace for all levels and ages, from Huntington Beach

to Newport Beach. Bicycles are welcome and the roll is free.

“Comedy on The Back Porch” featuring headliner Michael Rayner will

be held at 8:30 p.m. at Martini Blues, 5874 Edinger Ave. There will

The Huntington Beach Christian Singles pre-Valentine dance will

Pete’s Beach Brunch will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pete

Mallory’s Surf City Sunset Grille at the Hyatt Regency Huntington

Beach Resort and Spa, 21500 Pacific Coast Highway. The brunch will

feature bottomless Bloody Mary’s and entertainment by a variety of

beach bands. The cost of brunch is $29 for adults and $14.50 for

The United Chinese American Assn. and the Yulin Chinese School

will present a Chinese New Year celebration from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at

the Huntington Beach High School Auditorium, 1905 Main St. The event

will feature an afternoon of dance, songs, skits and more.

The Pacific Shoreline Marathon events will begin at 7 a.m. at
