Hitting their stride

Six local prep teams found ended in the top 10 rankings in their

respective final polls for the CIF-Southern Section regular season.

In boys’ basketball, Sunset League co-champion Edison was ranked

10th in the Division IIAA poll and Ocean View, the No. 3 team in the

Golden West League, was ranked ninth in Division IIIAA.

The polls were released Tuesday by the Southern Section office in

Los Alamitos.

In girls’ basketball, Sunset League co-champion Marina and

third-place finisher Edison each earned a No. 6 ranking in their

respective divisions, the Lady Vikings in Division IA, the Chargers,

in Division IIAA.

In girls’ soccer, Edison, runner-up in the Sunset League, was

ranked seventh in a Division I poll headed by Sunset champion Los

Alamitos.

Edison’s wrestling team ended its regular season with a No. 3

ranking in the Division I poll.
