Police allegedly
find pipes, syringes
Laguna Beach Police officers arrested an El Morro Village resident
on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia at 10:40 p.m. Friday
after police found methamphetamine pipes and syringes in her car,
police said.
While conducting a narcotics investigation at the El Morro trailer
home of Marla Parks, 37, police stopped several vehicles that were
parked outside Parks’ home, including Parks’ car, police said.
A second car, containing two adults and two juveniles, was
searched and all four people were arrested on the suspicion of
possessing methamphetamine, police said.
Inside Parks’ trailer police found drug paraphernalia, including
scales, which are commonly used to weigh drugs before they are sold,
said Sgt. Darin Lenyi.
Car hydroplanes on Laguna Canyon
A car struck another car and overturned after hitting a patch of
water and hydroplaning on Laguna Canyon Road at 7:27 a.m. Friday,
police said.
A Volvo driven by Michele Brazelton, 18, of Laguna Beach,
hydroplaned and crossed over the center line, crashing into a Ford
Mustang, driven by Brian Floyd, 63, of Anaheim.
The impact caused the Volvo to flip over, said Traffic Sargent
Jason Kravetz. Both occupants of the Volvo, Brazelton and a juvenile,
were hospitalized with minor injuries, police said. The driver of the
Mustang was not hurt, police said.
Man arrested after alleged break-in

police said.
A woman told police she heard footsteps in the upstairs of her
home and ran to a neighbor’s house for help, police said. The
